Sheridan Junior High Students to perform ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’
A collaboration between WYO PLAY and the Sheridan Junior High School (SJHS) will present Ye Olde Bronc Players’ inaugural production of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’
Directed by Heather Bujans, Ye Olde Bronc Players is a new theater group at SJHS that was formed to give young thespians experience in taking Shakespeare from the page to the stage.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, WYO Theater Executive Director Erin Butler was excited to announce the upcoming performance.
Butler told listeners that the group of 25 students has been working on one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies since January. Bujans abridged and adapted the play to increase accessibility for this age group. In collaboration with Sheridan County School District #2, WYO PLAY has been able to support the creation of this new unique theatrical opportunity for students in the community.
Performances will be at the SJHS Auditorium. Seating will be general admission. There will be a donation box in the lobby at SJHS, but it is free and open to the public.
Performances will take place at 7 p.m. in the Early Building Auditorium on April 13 and 14.
