There’s still some white stuff on the ground, and although the green stuff hasn’t shown up on the ground or in the trees yet, the orange stuff isn’t waiting any longer.

Aside from the downtown Sheridan Main Street construction project, WYDOT says three other projects are about to start on I-90 in Northeast Wyoming.

Work has started on a six mile portion of I-90 west of Gillette.

Referred to as the Wild Horse section, contractors are working on bridge rehabilitation on the westbound lanes between mile markers 112 and 118, with paving to follow in May.

That section of highway is about 5-to-6 miles west of the Gillette city limits.

Traffic will be one-lane westbound in that area and the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.

Elsewhere, work resumes on a 10-mile stretch of I-90 in the area of Sundance.

Crews repaved the westbound lanes last year, and now it’s time for the eastbound side.

The west-bound lanes will be reduced to one-lane of travel, so that east-bound traffic can cross over and get around the construction.

WYDOT says work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.

Not far from that project, there will be another paving project that will start at milepost 202, and proceed eastward for about 6-miles to the Wyoming-South Dakota border line.

Crossovers are being built and eventually westbound traffic will be diverted into the east-bound lanes.

Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of October and then the east-bound lanes are scheduled to be repaved at around this time next year.

As for the US Highway 14 railroad bridge work near Ranchester, WYDOT says that project is scheduled to be finished by the end of June.
