Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns is kicking off the “Home is the Key” campaign in the Sheridan region.

HHEB Restore Manager Brad Howard told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program how they can help to give a partner family a hand-up by purchasing “keys” while giving money to a worthy cause and depending on the key purchased, possibly winning a prize from some well-known local businesses.

According to HHEB Resource and Development Coordinator Dan Alsup, the purpose of the campaign is two-fold. The first is to  bring awareness to the role that the Habitat Restore plays in building affordable homes and the second is to fund the building that helps families achieve strength, stability and self-reliance.

Funds raised through this effort remain right here in the Sheridan region to help fund the building of homes for Sheridan families.

All residents have to do is shop at the ReStore and in addition to their purchase, will have the option to donate $1, $5, or $20. Then write their name on a key and have it displayed at the checkout counter. The raffle will take place during the Habitat Restore Customer Appreciation Day BBQ on April 29.

Blacktooth Brewery will also host a Bingo Night April 12, in partnership with HHEB and the “Home is the Key” campaign. Keys will be available for purchase during the event.

The Habitat Restore operates 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at 44 Fort Rd.
