Unemployment Numbers In Wyoming Drop Statewide In February 2023

New numbers from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services suggest that people in the Cowboy State are going back to work, even if it is a seasonal job.
The Department says the statewide unemployment rate dropped from 3.9% in January 2023 to 3.8% in February.
It was 3.4% in February of 2022.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February 2023 was at 3.6%, which is up from 3.4% from January 2023, and down from 3.8% in February 2022.
Sheridan County’s unemployment rate for February was at 4.0%, which is down from 4.3% in January.
Johnson County’s rate for February was at 4.1%, and that is down from 4.3% in January.
The February 2022 rates for both Sheridan and Johnson Counties was at 3.7% and 4.1% respectively.
Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming in February 2023 at 2.5%, while Fremont County had the highest rate at 5.0%.
Nonfarm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 7,000 jobs from February 2022 to February 2023.
