Ron RichterA sentencing hearing was held Thursday for a man charged with felony driving under the influence. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
In July of 2022, 53-year-old Scott Jackson of Thermopolis was arrested and charged with felony driving under the influence in Sheridan County. Four DUI convictions in a 10-year period is a felony in Wyoming. Jackson, at a hearing Thursday in District Court in Sheridan, was sentenced to 4 to 7 years in prison and ordered to pay $325 in various court costs and fees. The prison sentence will run concurrent to any time he may receive for violating his parole on a 2019 felony DUI conviction in Hot Springs County. Jackson was out on parole for the conviction in Hot Springs County when he was arrested and charged with the felony DUI in Sheridan County. Jackson has now been convicted of driving under the influence 13 times.
