County Tables Board Appointment for More Applications

During their regular meeting this week the Johnson County Commission was scheduled to appoint a member to the Kaycee/Buffalo/Johnson County Economic Development Joint Powers Board.

The commissioners discussed the matter and chose to table the appointment until their next meeting to allow time to get applications from the city to be delivered to them for consideration.

The board has an at-large seat available from Kaycee, but there have been no letters of interest from Kaycee residents to fill the position.

At a meeting last month the commissioners decided, after giving Kaycee residents the opportunity to serve, to open the applications from other members from the county to fill the board position.

The county currently has one application from the county, and will consider the applications submitted to the city, once they are delivered to the courthouse by city government.
