UW Selects New Director for School of Energy Resources

The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Holly Krutka as Executive Director of the University’s School of Energy Resources. The action came during the board’s teleconference meeting Wednesday. Krutka is the current Vice President for Coal Generation and Emissions Technologies with Peabody Energy. She will succeed Mark Northam as SER’s executive director, who is retiring after nearly 13 years as the founding director. Krutka is scheduled to start at the UW March 9.
In a news release issued by the University of Wyoming, Krutka said that she looks forward to leading a portfolio of academic, research and outreach programs at SER. She added that Northam’s leadership, coupled with the expertise, passion and dedication of the faculty and staff, has laid a strong foundation to build upon, and that she expects a smooth transition and will continue to focus on innovative technologies and policies to support growth within Wyoming’s robust energy sectors.
