Buffalo Main Street Sewer Extension Preliminary Design Approved

Buffalo Building Inspector Terry Asay, in his report to the city council this week, said he and Public Works Director Les Hook had met with KL&A Structural Engineers of Buffalo which has finished the preliminary initial engineering and preliminary work on the North Main storm sewer extension project.

Asay said WYDOT’s storm water outlet there transfers water from Hart Street to the creek, and the city’s study of 5-year, 25-year and 100-year storm events shows the inlet can handle the extra storm water that the city would add, although the 100-year storm pushes the limit of what the outlet can handle.

He explained that the next step is to apply to WYDOT for approval of the design they have.

If not approved, Asay said KL&A and the city will step back and look at other designs.
