Ron RichterThe Wyoming Department of Health on Tuesday confirmed the deaths of two Sheridan County residents attributed to COVID-19. An older adult Sheridan County male died in November. He was not hospitalized and had health conditions known to put people at higher risk of severe illness. An older adult Sheridan County male died in November. According to information from Sheridan County Public Health Response Coordinator Edward Hinzman, there were 25 new lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sheridan County since December 6 and 13 new probable cases. As of Tuesday, there are currently two individuals hospitalized in Sheridan County. The COVID-19 community level is high and the level of community transmission is high.
Deaths among Wyoming residents are added to the state’s coronavirus-related death total based on the location of a person’s permanent residence and official death certificate information. If death certificates do not describe COVID-19 as either causing or contributing to a person’s death, those deaths are not included in Wyoming’s count of coronavirus-related deaths.
