Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Feb. 18, 1920.

A community memorial service will be held at the Congregational church Sunday night for the Sheridan county men who died in France. Their nearest of kin will be presented with the Certificate of Homage of the French Republic.

D. W. Jones, manager of the Sheridan street railway, declared at a hearing before the public utilities commission this afternoon that unless the company’s application for a rate increase is granted, the company will have to discontinue the city service. The company is asking for an additional 2 cents, a total fare of 7 cents, for the city line.

J. A. Taylor of Clearmont is a visitor in Sheridan today.
