Back in the Capitol

2020 marks the first time that Wyoming’s Legislators have met for their session in the Capitol Building since 2015 and for many of them, this is the first time they have ever experienced the capitol in this way. Local Representative Mark Kinner talked about one particular room that reminds him of how much history the walls hold within.
As a member of the Joint Appropriations Committee that is responsible for crafting the state budget, Representative Kinner has spent much of his time that hasn’t been dedicated to meeting with the House body in meetings to decide Wyoming’s financial future. On day two of the 2020 Budget Session, the 65th Wyoming Legislature decided whether or not to introduce over 75 pieces of legislation in addition to their duties to attend Interim Committee meetings before, at lunch, and after adjournment. The House heard both committee and individually sponsored bills while the Senate focused on committee vetted files.
