Sheridan County board openings
Serving on various boards that perform services and leadership throughout Sheridan County can be a rewarding experience in public service.
Sheridan County Commission Chair Lonnie Wright and Nick Siddle recently made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program. During the appearance, the commissioners announced a few openings for various boards that serve the county. The Commission is currently accepting applications for two positions for the Predator Management District of Sheridan County.
Siddle informed listeners on a few of the requirements needed to apply for this board.
One of these open positions will fill an unexpired term from Jan. 1, 2023, to Dec. 31, 2023. The second open position will begin Jan. 1, 2023 and run through Dec. 31, 2026. This is a full 3-year term.
Interested individuals may apply for the open position by completing a Sheridan County Board Application on the Sheridan County web-site and submitting it with a cover letter no later than 5 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2022.
Four positions will also soon be open on the Sheridan County Fair Board. The purpose of the Fair Board is to economically develop, maintain and manage the fairground facilities for the benefit of the public which are safe, convenient, and provide diverse educational and recreational opportunities in an attractive environment. Each of these four positions will run from 2023 to 2026.
One unexpired position is open on the Sheridan County Travel and Tourism Board. This unexpired term will run from Jan. 01, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
According to the commissioners, serving on a board takes a level of commitment to public service that can be rewarding but is also vital to the process.
