BLM lifts fire bans in three counties

The Bureau of Land Management reports that fire restrictions have been lifted for BLM administered public lands in Johnson, Natrona, and Weston counties.   

According to the BLM High Plains District, the bureau will coordinate with the additional counties within the district prior to lifting remaining restrictions.  

The following activities can resume on BLM-administered lands: 

  •     Building a campfire 
  •     Smoking 
  •     Operating a chainsaw 
  •     Using an arc or gas welder or operating an acetylene or other torch.  

The BLM is reminding public land users that the following restrictions remain year-round on BLM-administered public lands:

  •     Discharging fireworks 
  •     Discharging firearms using incendiary or tracer ammunition 
  •     Burning or igniting tires, wires, magnesium, or other hazardous or explosive materials 
  •     Operating an off-road vehicle without a properly installed spark arrester 
  •     Discharging explosives of any kind, incendiary devices, pyrotechnic devices, or exploding targets.
