SC to Host Free CNA Info Session
The Certified Nursing Assistant program at Sheridan College, which prepares students for entry level employment in the healthcare field, will be hosting a free information session on Tuesday morning. According to a news release from the college, the event will take place at the Sheridan College Whitney Academic Center in room W181 at 10am. Attendees will learn about what prerequisites will be needed, what the cost of the course is, and how becoming a CNA can launch a rewarding career in healthcare.
The course itself consists of six to seven weeks of online work followed by in person labs, tests, and on-site clinicals for five days. The goal for participants is to be able to pass the certification examinations administered by the Wyoming State Board of Nursing, a requirement to become a CNA. The accreditation would prepare a student for employment at hospitals, long term care facilities, and with home care services. The next scheduled CNA course at Sheridan College begins on March 17.
