UW Dormitory Project

Replacing the old antiquated dorms at the University of Wyoming is something that the Wyoming Legislature and the University’s Board of Trustees have placed high on the construction priority list in an effort to attract more prospective students to the campus. While the exact dollar amount for the project is still a bit uncertain, it is estimated to cost upwards of $200 million. UW Spokesman Chad Baldwin says that the project remains open for discussion.
According to UW, demolition of at least one residence hall, making the way for a new more modern residence hall, is expected to begin later this year. At a meeting this past fall, the board of trustees directed the administration to “proceed with urgency” to begin financing of the residence hall project — and to prepare a five-year timeline for residence hall construction.
