UW Extension Announces 2022 Sheridan Research & Extension Center Field Day

The University of Wyoming’s Sheridan Research and Extension Center announced that on Wednesday, July 27, they will host the annual field day and open house at 1090 Dome Loop Drive.
The event is a unique opportunity to “interact directly with the people who are doing the research,” said Brian Mealor, director of the Sheridan Research and Extension Center. Families with children are welcome to attend.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Watt Agriculture Center on July 27. Field tours at the Adams Ranch will begin at 9:00 a.m. According to the center, during the tours, researchers will give brief presentations on their current projects and answer questions from the audience.
This year, the featured topics will include grapevine variety trials, bulbous bluegrass control, alternative forage plots, dry bean and pea selection fields, and alternative alfalfa weevil control options.
“I’m very excited about the diversity of research that’s happening at the Sheridan Research and Extension Center—and that people can come and learn about so many things at one event,” Mealor said.
Lunch will be served at noon. The Sheridan R&E Center team will lead a wrap-up discussion during the meal.
Other UW R&E field day events will be held at the Powell Research and Extension Center on July 21, and at the James C. Hageman Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension Center, near Lingle, on Aug. 10. The Laramie R&E Center will host its annual field day this fall.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information on the upcoming Sheridan R&E Center field day and to RSVP call 307-673-2856 or emailing shrec@uwyo.edu.
