Turbidity In Goose Creeks Could Increase For A Time

The water in Big Goose, Little Goose and Goose Creeks could soon look less clear for a time.
The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality has received a request from the City of Sheridan for a temporary increase in turbidity in the 3 creeks.
The temporary increase in turbidity would be part of a proposed ecosystem restoration project, by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
An increase in turbidity means the water will appear more cloudy, and is normally caused by silt, mud, algae, plant pieces, melting glaciers, sawdust, wood ashes or chemicals in the water
If approved, the increase would happen for up to a total of 90 working days and is permitted under WDEQ Water Quality Rules.
When this would happen remains unknown.
