One Sheridan area Catholic school took the phrase “one good deed deserves another,” and did just that.

Earlier this year, students in Mrs. Johnson’s 2nd and 3rd grade class at Holy Name Catholic School, made Valentine’s Day cards and delivered them to the Hub on Smith, to be distributed to various senior citizens in the Sheridan area.

Sometime later, some of the recipients of those cards wrote back or called the school, to offer their thanks for the good deed.

Mrs. Johnson says her students were pleasantly surprised and decided to do the project again for another holiday.

“The smiles were right there, they could not believe how this had affected others and then they decided that when Easter came around, that they wanted to extend that act of kindness and they wanted to make Easter cards.”

In total about 250 cards were made for both Valentine’s Day and the Easter Holiday.

Mrs. Johnson only has 11 students in her classroom.

I received those nice home made cards in my meal bag from the Hub. I should have sent a Thank you to the students and Teacher. It was very nice to receive the nice wishes from the students. Since I was home a lone on those days, it made the day a little brighter. Thank you and Happy to see you will be doing the same next school season. Have a good summer. Bless your Hearts.
