The ladies of the On the Loose are displaying their works at the Sheridan Fulmer Library for the entire month of May.
On the Loose is a local painting group made up of four friends and accomplished artists, Patti Ellis, Rebecca Rousseau, Darlene Reiter and Edre Maier.
Although Rousseau has relocated, the three remaining members of the painting group have continued to meet and inspire the best in each other. They have also been working hard to frame and display their paintings for the public.
Each a member of SAGE Community Arts, the four friends met through classes and workshops and decided to get together and create works of art using the many various mediums of paint and techniques.
During a recent appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Reiter talked about the appeal to painting among a group of artists.
Maier told listeners The On the Loose exhibit on display at the library developed organically as a way to display the work they enjoyed producing with each other.
A reception, free and open to the public will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Fulmer Library with the artists available to answer questions regarding their work.
