Seizing the Moment

A robing ceremony was recently held for 4th Judicial District Court Judge Darci Phillips. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter recently sat down for an interview with the newly appointed judge.
Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon on December 2, 2021, appointed 4th Judicial District Court Judge John Fenn to the Wyoming Supreme Court. Fenn’s appointment filled the open seat left by the retirement of Justice Michael Davis. The appointment also created a vacancy in the 4th Judicial District Court in Sheridan County. Gordon in February appointed Darci Phillips as Judge of the 4th Judicial District. I recently talked with Judge Phillips about what led to her decision to apply for the position.
Phillips was a partner with Davis and Cannon, LLP, where she practiced since 2018. Prior to joining Davis and Cannon, Phillips worked for almost a decade at the Sheridan County Attorney’s Office as a deputy county and prosecuting attorney.
Phillips earned Bachelor’s degrees at the University of Wyoming in Economics and Business Administration and was also a member of the Wyoming Cowgirls Basketball team from 1999-2003. Phillips is a graduate of the University of Wyoming College of Law, where she was named the Peter C. Maxfield Most Outstanding Graduating Student.
