Aaron PalmerJohnson County’s Commissioners have approved the requests from three entities and will submit applications for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Grant funding through the Wyoming Department of Family Services’ Community Partnership Initiative program.
At their regular Tuesday meeting, the commission heard presentations from the
Compass Center for Families who is asking for $25,000 for salaries and supplies to support programs in Johnson County; the Buffalo Children’s Center who is requesting $16,000 to fund their early morning hours program to cover salaries, utilities, and snacks for the children; and the Boys and Girls Club, asking for $20,000 to support programs in Buffalo.
The commission voted to approve the applications in those amounts, and will now wait to hear from the state on the amount of funding awarded to the county on behalf of the three entities to then be distributed to them.
