It’s been 150 years since Yellowstone National Park became the nation’s first national park, and one of the park’s nonprofit partners has a plan in place that will take effect 150 years from now.
Yellowstone Forever has created the Inheritance Pass, which is an annual pass that future generations can use to visit the park, in the year 2172.
The purchaser of the pass adds the recipient’s name which will be printed on the pass, and then the donor can then gift the pass to the recipient.
The cost is $1,500 and comes with an annual pass that must be first used either in 2022 or 2023, depending on when the inheritance pass is purchased.
Money raised will be used to fund preservation efforts in the park for the next 150 years through priority projects that protect wildlife, preserve resources and enhance visitor experiences.
The purchase is tax deductible.
