Ron RichterRequests for bids for the Rail Crossing Information System Project in Sheridan were advertised on February 22, March 8, and March 15. The bid opening was held on March 23 and City staff is recommending that Mayor Rich Bridger and the City Council award the project to Modern Electric, the lowest qualified bid, in the amount of $144,070. City Engineer Hanns Mercer provides details of the project.
Mercer said there will be three sensors on poles located near the tracks.
If the bid award to Modern Electric is approved by the Council at an upcoming meeting, the project would be funded with proceeds from one-percent optional and public benefit funds.
