Ron RichterA popular trail in Sheridan County will be closing temporarily this upcoming Friday. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The Sheridan Community Land Trust would like to remind the public that beginning Friday, April 1, the Hidden Hoot Trail and Hoot Loop Trail will be closed due to calving season. The annual trail closure is done to ease stress on the animals and Hidden Hoot and the Hoot Loop trails will reopen once calving season concludes. While the Hidden Hoot and Hoot Loop trails will be closed temporarily beginning Friday, the Soldier Ridge, Soldier Ridge Bench, The Link and the Kicking Horse trails will all remain open to the community. The trails can be accessed from the Soldier Ridge Trailhead on the west edge of Sheridan.
Red Grade Trails will also remain open. Parking lots and trailheads are located at the base of the Bighorns on State Highway 335 just before the start of Red Grade Road. The Land Trust reminds people that as more visitors enjoy community trails this season, pets should be under your control whenever you are using the trails, and pets must be leashed whenever livestock or wildlife are present.
