The Sheridan County YMCA Aquatics Center is stepping in this summer to provide summer fun for families who would be utilizing the Kendrick Pool.

In 1937, Kendrick Pool was built and presented to the City of Sheridan by Evelyn & Edward Moore. A 2019 Community Survey resulted in the pool rating as one of the top priorities for investment for recreation facilities by Sheridan’s residents.

According to the City, that survey also resulted in 71% residents feeling it was important to renovate or rebuild the pool.

Funded with Cap Tax, Public Benefit and a Land Water Conservation Fund Grant, renovations are being made to the pump house and wading pool as well as the locker rooms and bathhouse.

Renovations are well underway but will not be completed before the end of the summer season.

To fill the gap, Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday said the Aquatics Center at the Y will be offering a special package similar to the Kendrick Pool price of admission. Caissday said the staff of the center is excited for the summer influx.
