Aaron PalmerThe Johnson County Commission approved and accepted a congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant through the Wyoming Department of Transportation for dust mitigation work in the county.
County Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer said the county was awarded nearly $410,000 and with the county’s matching funds of about $102,000 would give them a total of roughly $512,000 for dust mitigation on county roads.
The funds are for fiscal year 2020 that will be spent and used in the spring of 2021.
The county’s award this year increased by about $110,000 and he explains why.
Dust mitigation will be conducted on nearly 100 miles of Dead Horse, Schoonover, Streeter, Upper Powder River, TTT, Lower Sussex, Reno, TW, Trabind, and Irigaray Roads.
