WebmasterThe Festival of Trees fundraiser was revived on Friday night as guests flocked to the Historic Sheridan Inn to enjoy a night of food, fun, and auctions to support local Special Olympic Athletes. Jarod Martin, Fundraising Committee Chair, explained how the funds will help the members of the Sheridan and Johnson County teams.
Several fully decorated trees, wreaths, and even two firearms were auctioned off during the live portion and silent auction items included several different variations of gift baskets. Three individuals that were in attendance shared why they were happy to be apart of the event.
Martin said that although Friday’s event was the first event of its kind in 5 years, due to a hiatus that took place after a more than 20 year original run, they intend to make sure this gathering continues to take place in the coming years.
