Two people are in jail in Washakie County after getting involved in a critical incident with law enforcement agencies.

According to the Washakie County Sheriff’s Office, sometime overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday (September 14th and 15th), a deputy responded to a disturbance call in the area of Meadowlark Ski Area and Baby Wagon Road.

Once the two suspects were contacted an altercation took place and shots were fired, however no injuries were reported.

The suspects fled the area, but were later found and taken into custody without further incident.

As a precaution US Highway 16 was closed between Buffalo and Ten Sleep, until the situation was under control.

The State of Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into the matter.
