Sinkhole Discovered On US Highway 30/287 In Rock River

Travelers heading towards or away from Laramie to the north have to find another way to get to their destination.

WYDOT says sometime Tuesday morning (September 14th), a sinkhole was discovered on US Highway 30/287, near milepost 290, which is also near the intersection of the road that leads to the school.

The sinkhole is about four feet deep.

The cause as well as determining what other damage may have been done, and how to repair it, is being worked on.

US Highway 30/287 is closed between Medicine Bow and Bosler, except for local traffic.

WYDOT says it is unknown when the highway will reopen.
