Johnson County Approves Application for Courthouse Security Upgrades

Johnson County’s commissioners discussed a grant application to the State of Wyoming for funding to upgrade security at the judicial center.

Chairman Bill Novotny asked Commissioner Jeff Shelley to explain further.

The county’s ask on the grant will be nearly $163,000 for the equipment upgrade with a 10% match from the county.

The county will pay for the upgrades with the state reimbursing them at 90% of the total cost.

Ruby said Johnson County’s cost to upgrade their system is lower than some other counties in the state.

The commission voted to approve the grant application.
