First Interstate Bank Employees Make a Difference During Ninth Annual Volunteer Day

On Wednesday, September 16, First Interstate Bank employees stepped away from their offices and into their communities for the Bank’s ninth annual Volunteer Day. Employees completed nearly 400 service projects across the Bank’s 10-state footprint, supporting local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations. 

“Volunteer Day is one of the clearest reflections of who we are as an organization,” explained Jim Reuter, President and CEO of First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. “It showcases the care, teamwork, and community spirit that define First Interstate. The impact is remarkable, but what’s even more meaningful is what those numbers represent: thousands of moments spent strengthening the communities we call home.”

Branches and offices across Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming closed at noon local time so employees could participate in projects tailored to local needs. Activities included food bank support, park and neighborhood cleanups, nonprofit outreach, school support, and other hands-on service projects. 

Volunteer Day began in 2018 as part of First Interstate’s 50th anniversary celebration and has since become a cornerstone of the Bank’s community engagement efforts. The annual event reflects First Interstate’s long-standing commitment to meeting people where they are and helping them get to where they want to be.
