Wildfire Protection Act
U.S. Senator John Barrasso, Senate Majority Whip, spoke on the Senate Floor Wednesday about the benefits of the Wildfire Protection Act. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Senator Barrasso, during his floor speech, highlighted how the Wildfire Prevention Act will reduce the risk of wildfires and restore the health of federal lands in Wyoming and across the country. He said his bill will set real standards to increase thinning, prescribed burns, tree removal, and grazing and it will allow agencies to sell more timber along with cutting unnecessary red tape and streamline management.
Barrasso said federal forests are in dire need of effective management.
The Senator closed his remarks on the floor by saying the Wildfire Prevention Act builds on what works, it gives federal agencies the tools they need to succeed, and our shared forests and our local communities deserve nothing less.
