Johnson County’s Commissioners approved a renewal of the contract with ONSOLVE for their CodeRED Mass Notification System.

County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly brought the contract before the commission with her recommendation for approval, which is for three years at $6,600 per year, with an option for an additional three years.

According to the ONSOLVE website, CodeRED is a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service solution trusted by thousands of government agencies since 1998.

Public safety officials can easily deliver geo-targeted, time-sensitive information via phone, email, SMS, IPAWS and more to those residents who have signed up for notifications.

The system in Johnson County has also been upgraded to provide weather-related notifications to county residents as well.
