Johnson County’s Commissioners allocated grant funding to the Buffalo Childrens’ Center, Compass Center for Families and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Bighorns at their Tuesday meeting.

The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF Grants, are for Fiscal Year 2021 from the Wyoming Department of Family Services’ Community Partnership Initiative program.

The county received $52,000 from the state for distribution, which was down slightly from last year.

The commissioners allocated $20,500 to Compass Center; $16,200 to the Boys and Girls Club; and $12,950 to the Buffalo Children’s center.

The county will receive $2,600 for administration of the grants.

The Children’s Center had requested $16,000 for extended childcare hours; Compass Center asked for $25,000 for their visitation programs in Johnson County; and the Boys and Girls Club asked for $20,000 for after school programs.
