A popular National Monument in Northeast Wyoming will no longer be accessible for visitors 24/7.

In a social media post, the National Park Service says beginning Thursday, March 13th, Devils Tower National Monument will no longer be open 24 hours a day, and instead be open from 7am until 5pm.

No official reason was given as to why this is.

Hours for the visitor center are from 9am until 5pm, which remains unchanged.

The Monument is located about 10 miles southwest of Hulett.

Last year, the park counted almost 541-thousand recreational visits, making it the 2nd busiest year on record behind 2021, when there were a little more than 550-thousand visits.

Back in 2022, the park stopped accepting cash at the entrance, and now only accepts cards or digital payments.
