Ron RichterThird and final reading of an ordinance amending Sheridan City Code appendix A, article three, paragraph four, was tabled by the Sheridan City Council at their regular business meeting Monday night.. Code appendix A, article three, paragraph four, states that any property annexed into the City be placed into an R-1 zoning district unless the governing body chooses otherwise. R-1 is the most restrictive of the City’s residential zoning districts. Ordinance 2272 that was tabled by the Council would have prohibited future subdivisions through annexation or rezone, from using R-1 zoning district. The ordinance would not have affected any properties currently zoned R-1.
City Attorney Brendon Kerns addressed the Council prior to their vote to table the item.
Mayor Rich Bridger made a motion to table the ordinance for six months, which the Council approved unanimously.
The Council also approved an agreement with SAGE for executive director services for the Sheridan Public Arts Committee and liquor license renewals for the 2024 liquor license term. We’ll have more from the City Council meeting in future stories.
