The white stuff is now on Sheridan sidewalks and streets and while many have their ways of trying to clear the snow, those that were, or are currently within the downtown Main Street construction project area are being asked to be careful with their snow removal efforts.

The city of Sheridan and WYDOT is asking those with storefronts along downtown Main Street to not use salt or de-icer on sidewalks this winter.

The chemicals in those products will run into the gutter and potentially onto the new concrete, which could cause the surface to flake and potentially crack.

Those removing snow are asked to stay on top of shoveling efforts, and only use sand to eliminate chances of slipping.

Crews will not be able to finish paving this week, because of the forecast and temperatures, but say they are hopeful to finish next week and open Main Street near the end of the week of November 6th, weather permitting.

Now if main street businesses just stay on top of snow removal because in the past a lot of them do not. I have had family members attempting to shop on Main street and fall. A reason why I no longer shop there.
