Depending on the exact location, there’s about one month to go or less on this year’s version of the downtown Sheridan Main Street construction project.

The city of Sheridan reports construction crews have finished paving Main Street between Alger Street and Grinnell Plaza, including the Main and Grinnell intersection.

Contractors will be finishing up work on some localized gutters, sidewalks and the bump-out at Grinnell during the next few days and expect to open that section of Main Street sometime next week.

Meanwhile, work on installing the water lines from Smith Alley to Loucks Street continues, with plans to pave that last section of Main Street in a few weeks.

If all goes well, the remainder of Main Street should open on-time by the end of next month.

Work on the remaining two blocks of Main Street, between Loucks and Coffeen Avenue is scheduled to begin in April of next year.

WYDOT says it’s too early to tell, but there is a possibility that work could be done before next year’s Sheridan WYO Rodeo Parade, which could not be held on Main Street this year, due to all the work.
