Discussions regarding the next phase of the Sheridan Hi-Tech Business Park continue, and time is beginning to run short to get some of the grant money to help with development.

Members of the Sheridan Economic and Education Development Authority (SEEDA) are trying to weigh the pros and cons regarding the two proposed locations for the new Business Park.

One would be an extension of the current park and would be on the other side of Yellowtail Drive, while the other is on East 5th Street, near the new Story House Village development.

SEEDA Administrator Robert Briggs explains what kinds of obstacles the authority has to sift through.

“Each proposal has its own opportunities and challenges in terms of timing, in terms of utilities would need to be installed, in terms of how the land could be acquired and cost of the land and infrastructure associated with it.”

Briggs adds that topography is another challenge that has to be examined.

SEEDA may call a special meeting in the near future so SEEDA can start work on putting together and submitting a grant application to the Wyoming Business Council.

The deadline for grant applications is in November.
