Sheridan County has opted to enter into a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) for temporary emergency services funding between the county, City of Sheridan, and Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

The agreement is necessary to fund emergency services in the interim through November before the new EMS provider, Wyoming Regional EMS, LLC begins serving the community.

According to County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller, current EMS provider Rocky Mountain Ambulance approached Sheridan Fire & Rescue saying they didn’t believe they could fulfill their service contract to have three ambulances available 24-7.

Obermueller explained that there is no exact cost for the services for Campbell County Hospital-EMS (CCH-EMS) but the three partners in the program have allocated up to $150,000 or $50,000 each for the services, but will only be billed for the services rendered at the end of the contract.

Obermueller was asked about payments to Rocky Mountain Ambulance if they were not able to fulfill their contract.

Services provided by CCH-EMS began the last week of September and will continue until November 19.
