Two people suspected in being involved in a number of jobsite burglaries are in custody, after they were caught trying to hide from law enforcement.
According to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, at around 12:30pm Wednesday (September 28th), a citizen spotted a suspect vehicle, and attempted to make contact with the 2 people inside, but the driver sped off.
The citizen followed the vehicle on East Ridge Road, but then discontinued the pursuit after the vehicle turned onto Peno Road.
When deputies arrived, a rancher informed them that a vehicle had driven through a pasture at a high rate of speed east of Peno Road.
Just before 1pm, the vehicle was located unoccupied at the end of a steep drainage.
Deputies along with members of the Sheridan Police Department, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and Division of Criminal Investigation established a perimeter and located a male and a female suspect about 1 hour later.
They were taken into custody without incident.
It is unknown what kind of criminal activity that the 2 are suspected in being involved in.
The Sheriff’s Office adds the 2 are the only ones that were involved and there is no threat to the public.

I saw suspicious vehicles at the subdivision South of Jeffrey’s draw at about 3 AM, three days in a row last week. I did not give pursuit. I’ve seen suspicious vehicles at the subdivision South of Jeffrey’s draw at about 3 AM, three days a row this week. I did not give pursuit🤬
