Emergency Management Coordinator Jesse Ludikhuize appeared on a recent Sheridan Media Public Pulse program to discuss his background and his approach to performing the duties of emergency management coordinator.
A former law enforcement officer, Ludikhuize spent his law enforcement career between San Bernardino and Santa Rosa CA, until an on duty injury made career changes for him.
A family man, Ludikhuize wished to get his children out of the “toxic environment that was California” and told Sheridan Media that he has already witnessed his children thrive in their new home.
According to Ludikhuize, both he and his wife share many values with Wyoming. He said they have been welcomed to Sheridan and when the position of emergency management coordinator became available, Ludikhuize felt he had the experience and found the right job to return to public service.
The mission of the Sheridan County Emergency Management Office is to lessen the effects of disaster on the lives and property of Sheridan County through leadership, coordination and support. As Sheridan County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, Ludikhuize knows it’s all about planning ahead.
A required drill of Sheridan County’s many first responders, the Sheridan Memorial Hospital and other emergency personnel will take place later this year according to Ludikhuize.
