Things To Do
Tongue River Reservoir.

Tongue River Reservoir is an easy 20 mile drive out of Sheridan on highway 314. The 12-mile long reservoir is situated among scenic red shale, juniper canyons, and the open prairies of southeastern Montana. The park is loved by Montana and Wyoming anglers, campers, and boaters.
There is excellent fishing as four “state record” fish have been pulled from its waters. The reservoir boasts excellent small mouth and large mouth bass, crappie, walleye and northern pike fishing. Boating, water skiing and jet skies are popular here during the summer months.

The park along the lake shore is 642 acres in size and offers 40 paved campsites with electrical hookups at an elevation of 3,468 feet. The site has vault toilets, boat rental, fish cleaning station, groceries, LP gas refill, grills/fire rings, picnic tables, trash cans, and drinking water (Approx – 106 Developed Campsites near the lake)
The Tongue River Marina offers several amenities, whether it’s shopping for those must have items (You know the ones you forgot at home) or simply picking up those last minute extras, they have something for everyone.
AIS Regulations – The Game and Fish reminds boaters on all lakes that Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) are organisms that significantly harm an ecosystem when introduced. Established AIS can damage natural resources, are nearly impossible to eradicate and costly to manage.
