2A STATE HOOPS – The 2-A state basketball tournament wrapped up in Casper Saturday both teams from Tongue River and the Big Horn Rams played a lot of basketball through the tournament, Sheridan Media’s Kevin Koile has the state tournament wrap up.
BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS – The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball closed out their regional tournament Saturday the Lady Broncs season came to a close with a 59-53 loss Saturday morning against Campbell county.
The Broncs won their elimination game against Cheyenne Central Saturday morning then dropped their state tournament seeding game against Casper Kelly Walsh and will be a 4 seed when the state tournament opens Thursday.
Head coach Jeff Martini says the Broncs played well and were tough in the elimination game against Central.
In the seeding game against KW the heat was off as both teams knew they had qualified for the state tournament.
Now it’s back to the grind for three days as they get ready to open the tournament Thursday night.
The Broncs open the first round in the late game Thursday night at 9:00 against Riverton.
UW / MWC HOOPS TOURNAMENT – The Wyoming Cowboys open the Mountain West conference tournament in Las Vegas Thursday afternoon against UNLV Cowboy pregame at 3:00 with the tip at 3:30 live on KWYO and 106.9 FM.
The Cowgirls will open the MWC tournament tonight against Colorado state at 9:30
INDOOR TRACK – The Sheridan high school track teams ended their indoor season at the state championships in Gillette the Broncs are now the four time indoor state champs the Lady Broncs were third complete results can be seen on the sports page at sheridanmedia.com.
SPRING SPORTS – In typical Wyoming spring sports fashion practice for bronc and lady bronc soccer and outdoor track will start inside today.
