Alcohol Enforcement MOU Tabled by Sheridan Commission

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Sheridan County and the Sheridan Police Department for alcohol enforcement was tabled by the county commission Tuesday, at the request of Sheridan County Prevention Manager Ann Perkins.

Perkins explained to the commission that talks between prevention and the police department had led to the realization that there needed to be more time allotted to work on the agreement.

According to Perkins, they expect the talks and a final agreement will be completed and brought back before the commission within a month.

The agreement, when approved, will cover the SPD managing the “Safe Ride” program, and conducting alcohol compliance inspections including bar check inspections, according to the draft MOU.
