cvannoyIn an executive session of the SCSD#2 School Board, the board accepted the resignation of Dr. Micheal Carnes from his position of principal of Sheridan High School “He resigned for personal reasons,” Superintendent Scott Stults said.
The school will begin the search for a new principal with the hopes that the new hire can start on July 1. There will be multiple interviews, and even though Stults admitted that there is currently a teacher shortage in the United States, he added Sheridan is still a desirable place to work.
Carnes was hired as SHS principal in 2021. In 2013, Carnes served as principal at Middletown Pennsylvania Area High School.
In a letter to parents on Feb. 15, signed by the leadership team at Sheridan High School concerning Carnes resignation, they said that “As we continue through the second semester, we want to assure you that our mission of ensuring the learning of all students continues to be our highest priority.” The letter added that if any parent or student has any questions, feel free to contact any of the leadership team, Casey O’Connor; Jennifer Fiedor; Steve Mayhue and Don Julian.
In other business the board moved to change the order of the agenda to set the audience comment section after the district reports section. This will commence at the March meeting. the board also heard a report from Maggie Widener, Sheridan College, who spoke to the board about the Early Childhood Liaison program, the article on that program will appear tomorrow.

Can’t blame him. Probably tired of dealing with this regime.

I can’t blame him either. Maybe he was just tired of dealing with those snotty-nosed brats who can’t do anything without the help from mommy or daddy’s money.
