Ron RichterA trial date has been set for early June in the case against Scott Ragsdale, who is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The arrest occurred on November 24, 2021 at a business in Sheridan after a bag containing methamphetamine allegedly fell out of the cuff of his pants. The possession charge is being prosecuted as a felony because Ragsdale has six prior drug possession convictions.
Ragsdale, at an arraignment hearing in Fourth Judicial District Court Thursday, pleaded not guilty to the charge. District Court Judge William Edelman scheduled a #2 stack three-day jury trial for June 6 and set a pretrial conference for May 5 at 9:30 am. If convicted, Ragsdale faces up to five years in prison and fines of up to $5,000.
