Design Contract Amendment

In October, the Sheridan City Council awarded a construction contract in the amount of $5.24 million to Earth Work Solutions for the landfill closure project for landfill cells T6, T7 and T8. The Council recently authorized a design contract amendment with Burns and McDonnell in the amount of $402,000 to provide construction administration services of the landfill closure project. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts.

Roberts said the nature, scope and the fee for the work is appropriate and reasonable and the fee total of $402,000 is 7.6 percent of the construction costs, which is well below the industry’s acceptable fee percentage of 10 percent of a project’s construction costs. Work on the project is expected to begin next month.
