There’s one month of numbers remaining to collect, but no matter what, 2021 will mark the busiest year on record for one National Park in Wyoming.
Grand Teton National Park reports as of the end of November, there have been more than 3.8 million visitors to the park for the year.
That’s a 9-percent increase from the original record set in 2018, which was just short of 3.5 million visitors.
The 2018 record was already surpassed back in September.
November 2021 saw more than 61-thousand visitors at the park, making it the 2nd busiest November on record.
Only November 1999 was busier with almost 64-thousand visitors.
Park staff are analyzing data and studies conducted over the summer, to better understand changing visitation trends and to identify issues and opportunities to be addressed in the park.
More information on those trends and issues will be shared with stakeholders and the general public in the coming months.
