Aaron PalmerJohnson County School District #1 has a new board member after a vote by the board at their meeting Monday night.
After a brief executive session, Jan Johnson was approved to fill a position left vacant when Dr. Tim Blaney resigned due to health reasons back in November.
After his resignation the board sought letters of interest from interested parties to serve the remainder of Blaney’s term.
Zach Davis and Valorie Spanos were also considered for the position before the board voted to appoint Johnson.
Johnson will serve the remainder of Dr. Blaney’s term, which will expire at the end of November in 2020.
Jan Johnson is a former employee of the district, serving for many years as the athletic director at Buffalo High School.
